Comfortably accommodates up to 2.4 inch (61mm) tires in 650b (or 46mm on 700c wheels). So it's great for stiffness (on the sides of the downtube), but bad for shock loading (e.g. around the head tube).\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e \nTherefore, the best layup is a mix. We strategically place ultra-high modulus carbon (very stiff) where we can and harder grades of carbon where we need to. It is also very light thanks to another OPEN innovation: Smartmount. Smartmount attaches the brake caliper directly to the fork without an adapter. The mounts are preset for 160mm discs (the only sensible choice for gravel bikes). Lighter, cleaner, stiffer and safer.
